Belleterre Community Partners and Emmett Properties Group have purchased the former Woodstock Middle School from the Government of New Brunswick with the intent of re-purposing the school into a mixed use residential and commercial building. The new building will include 36 affordable and market rental apartments and a 200 square metre daycare. The development will also include a new 20-unit affordable and market apartment.
Belleterre and Emmett will gift and sell the land not used for development to the Town of Woodstock, who will use the space as a community park.
To support the local ecosystem and its inhabitants, Belleterre and Emmett will also be creating a new habitat in the community park for a colony of Chimney Swifts who currently call the school building’s chimney home.
